Newfoundland and Labrador Priority Stream is an entirely new program for highly educated and highly skilled newcomers with specialized experience. This program introduces to those individuals who wish to obtain Canadian Permanent Residency.

How the new program works

The priority skills Newfoundland and Labrador will operate as an expression of interest (EOI) system. To receive an invitation the candidate will need to apply through the province’s online portal.

Invited individuals and candidates will receive a provincial nomination if they meet all the criteria for Express entry skilled worker or skilled worker categories.

Newfoundland and Labrador are accepting EOI from people who have at least one year of skilled work experience in an in-demand occupation. They are also accepting applications in one of the following four specialties: Health care, Technology, Aquaculture, and Agriculture, and from those who have finished Ph.D., Master’s degree from reputed university within the last three years.

To get the EOI score the applicant should fill up the questionnaire. Those applicants who get above 60 points will be visible to local employers.

It is not necessary to have a job offer letter to apply to the province’s new provincial nominee (PNP) program. Applicants have received interest of local employers if they score highly in the EOI system.

There are some eligibility criteria that all candidates must follow.

Candidates must have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) five in order to get eligible and the language result must less than 12 months old.

The candidates also need to be at least 21 years old and intend to live in Newfoundland and Labrador (NL).
